"Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature." Tom Robbins

Breaking news: Toronto city council spent seven (7) (VII) business days arguing about the city budget. Their findings were many, their productivity was questionable. But among the most shocking things to be uncovered:

Our city has spent--in the last year--$100,000 on plant watering.

These aren't plants in our public parks or famous plants or plants that science is working on in hopes that they may one day talk (and maybe sing!). These are the plants in our city councillor's offices. They pay someone to come in and water their plants.

Now I am just a lowly non-city councillor. Assholes might call me the proletariat. But I can water my own damn plants (actually just the one plant). For $100,000 I could get a watering can for every city councillor's office. And deliver them besides.
