So far we've had a blizzard, rains, temperatures like -13, and ice. And it still hasn't sunken in to me that winter is here.
I met CBC's Andy Barrie on Thursday night, during said blizzard, at an alumni event at Centennial College's CCC*. He's exactly the sort of person that he sounds like on the radio. He is incredibly cordial, and a pleasant person to talk to. I'm trying not to gush, but I'm crazy about Andy Barrie. He said, "bless your mother for making you a CBC listener!"
I'm going to start listening to Metro Morning on my way to work in the mornings. I think it will make me smarter to get back into it. Much smarter.
Notes:
*Centennial College's CCC: That's the least verbose you can be when talking about Centennial. CCC is the Center for Creative Communications. The campus is mostly media programs like Book & Mag publishing and RTV that get people jobs, apparently, and they're very high on themselves about that. So they invited me to an event with wine tickets and a meat bar!
